Meteorite law in Slovakia

No meteorite-specific law that we can confirm. The Košice fall of 2010 was recovered by organised scientific searches.

No specific law known

We know of no Slovak law written for meteorites. When the Košice meteorite fell in 2010, researchers from Comenius University in Bratislava led the searches and recovered more than 200 fragments with landowners' cooperation. Anyone who finds a possible meteorite should contact a university or the national museum.

Not legal advice

This is general information to help you ask the right questions, not legal advice. Laws change and their details matter, and this summary was last reviewed in 2026. Before you search, buy, sell or export a meteorite, check the current law with the authorities of the country concerned or a qualified lawyer. See meteorite law by country.
