Other services the site uses

To show you the site, your browser fetches some files directly from other services, which then receive your IP address: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Google (fonts, plus adverts if you allow them), Wikimedia (photographs), and the providers of the map tiles and map software. Each handles that information under its own privacy policy.

International transfers

Some of these services are based in, or may process information in, the United States and other countries. Where they do, they rely on legal safeguards such as the UK–US Data Bridge, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

How long information is kept

We keep no visitor records ourselves. Settings stored on your device remain until you clear them; your cookie choice is asked for again after 12 months. Hosting logs and advertising cookies are kept for the periods set by Cloudflare and Google.

The site is suitable for all ages. There are no adverts on the children's games and story pages, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
