Meteorite law in Sudan
No meteorite-specific rule that we can confirm. The Almahata Sitta fall of 2008 was recovered by the University of Khartoum with international partners.
No specific law known
We know of no Sudanese law written for meteorites. When the asteroid 2008 TC3 fell over the Nubian Desert in 2008, the University of Khartoum organised the searches with foreign scientists, and much of the recovered material was shared between institutions for research. Anyone who finds a possible meteorite should contact the university or the geological research authority.
This is general information to help you ask the right questions, not legal advice. Laws change and their details matter, and this summary was last reviewed in 2026. Before you search, buy, sell or export a meteorite, check the current law with the authorities of the country concerned or a qualified lawyer. See meteorite law by country.
