Mässing is a HED achondrite (from the asteroid Vesta) meteorite, officially classified as Howardite, that was seen to fall in Germany in 1803. A total of 1.6 kg was recovered. Witnessed falls are rare and especially valuable to science, because the stones are collected before Earth's weather can change them.
