Meteorite falls of 1751

One meteorite in the catalogue is recorded as a witnessed fall in 1751: Hraschina, in Croatia.

Why 1751 matters

On 26 May 1751 a mass of iron fell at Hrašćina, near Zagreb. The eyewitness reports collected afterwards became key evidence in 1794, when Ernst Chladni argued that iron and stone masses really do fall from the sky.
